- Battery powered illumination, (Qty 2 AA Batteries not included) Magnification 40X.
- Optics has reticle in field of view to use for measuring.
Reticle Divisions for Measuring: 0.05mm (20 divisions per mm).
- Reticle has divisions across X direction for 4mm distance (80 divisions in X) and half of field on Y direction for 2mm (40 divisions in Y, half field).
- Microscope folds shut to close and turn off light. Open to turn on light.
- Has focusing adjustment knob that moves optical lens so object can be focused in the view.
- Tilts when open to allow light to shine at angle for optimal reflected illumination.
- Clear base shroud allows easy viewing of specimen being examined while microscope sits on top.
- Microscope sits on top of specimen during examination.
- Field of View, Diameter: 1/8" or about 4mm.
- Includes black leather storage case.
- Overall Size 1- 3/4" x 5-1/2" x 7/8".
- No need for instructions. Has arrow marked “open” for insertion/replacement of battery.
- Has one simple knob that is turned to focus.
- ight turned on by simply unfolding and opening the microscope.
- Accuracy of Measurements: As any microscope is focused, the width of the field of view in the viewing eyepiece also changes.
- As this width changes, so does the effective magnification.
While a microscope has a nominal magnification, such as 40x, the precise magnification needs to be calculated.
- To obtain precise measurements with any microscope, the eyepiece reticle must be calibrated with a stage micrometer, and a mathematical calculation made to know precisely the distance represented by the graduation marks on the reticle.
- If you need to make precise measurements, you will need the stage micrometer that we can provide as an option.
